The Larry Stiteler Memorial Roof Giveaway (formerly called the Community Makeover Roof Giveaway) is a proud, long-standing holiday tradition for us at East Coast Roofing. We started more than 16 years ago and have annually given away free, professionally-installed GAF roofing systems[Professionally-Grade Systems] for members of our community.
Renamed for owner Shawn Stiteler’s father and founder of East Coast Roofing, Siding & Windows, the giveaway is an opportunity for community members throughout South Jersey to nominate someone who bettered their community.
We typically ask for nominations for those who have given to their community in some way and the community member nominates them — but we also accept self nominations. The person not only has to have given of themselves in some way to their community, but also have a need for a new roof.
The team members get involved and as a team we go through applications and choose a family to give a new roof —with installation in time for Christmas!
Since 2009, East Coast Roofing, Siding, & Windows has been donating at least one roof per year to a deserving community member. From Veterans to first responders to outstanding community members, we’re looking for ONE deserving homeowner in Atlantic/Cape May County, or Cumberland County, New Jersey.

The Orellana family had been through trials over the past years. The patriarch of the home was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after beating cancer for the first time two years ago. With this turn in events, the matriarch has become the sole provider of the home. She not only cares for her husband, but she continues to work to provide for her family.
Through every trial she never stopped giving back. She continued to serve at her local church teaching the children. She helped families who needed help. She fed people and opened her home to those who needed a place to stay.
Her children testify that they saw her serve others throughout a season when she was in great need. They say her greatest achievement is being their mom. Their eldest son, who nominated them, writes, “My mom has affected my life in a great way, she taught me about God, and about living as Jesus did. I think of her as one of the most loving people that I know.”
Her son continues to say that she is an example of a person who loves, who is good, and helps those in need. This family not only demonstrates the heart of giving, but they also desperately need a new roof. Their roof is beyond repair, and it leaks heavily when it rains.
This mother of three taught Sunday School for many years and was a regular volunteer in her community. She tragically lost her husband, who was a skilled carpenter, in 2024. Before his passing, her husband was working to repair several issues with their older house and had poured his heart into remodeling their kitchen and living room areas.
Due to the kindness and dedication of their loved ones, the remodels were completed, including the laundry room and bathrooms. Melissa pressed on, despite her unexpected loss, to create a safe and beautiful home for her children. Now, she has a brand-new roofing system to cover the home she and her husband worked so hard to build.
Felicia Campbell was the deserving community member chosen in 2023 for the Larry Stiteler Memorial Roof Giveaway.
Felicia (58) is a cancer survivor and an active member in her church. Felicia was a cheerleading coach for many years, coaching for the Galloway Mustangs, Egg Harbor City Crusaders, and Cedar Creek Pirates. However, her dedication to her family shines the brightest out of all her accomplishments.
Felicia is the third of six children. At 24 years old following the death of their mother, Felicia, being the oldest girl, became the “woman of the home” caring for her siblings, all while being a young mother herself. Felicia’s father served as the Chief of South Egg Harbor Volunteer Fire Department.
After his death in 2018, Felicia was given her childhood home where she currently resides today. Felicia lives with her daughter and her four grandchildren that she helps care for. Her roof has leaks which have affected the inside of her home.
